Hi, my name is Julie Cosgrove, I am from the UK, but also lived in New Zealand for several years. On return back to England I moved to Worcestershire in the West Midlands, having originally come from Lancashire.
My background is being a Registered Nurse having qualified in 1989, I worked in clinical practice until 2017 & and previously as a complementary therapist. Since then, I have worked within disability assessments and currently absence management, or Occupational Health. I am also a Mental Health First Aider, as well as able to offer the REST programme a second generation CBTi for insomnia. It was during my normal day to day work, that I started to learn a bit more about the impact on Menopause!
I attended some free workshops, that made me realise, I was in fact in perimenopause, the anxiety, mild depression, loss of confidence were due to hormones rather than the ongoing pandemic and lockdowns at the time. I then became a menopause champion, to better help the women I work with within my nursing role and was offered the opportunity to become a menopause coach.
Now as a Certified Menopause Coach, I am working with women who are finding it hard to manage their symptoms, leaving them at risk of losing their jobs, leaving their jobs or reducing their hours. I coach them through one of my programmes to help them turn the clock back on their symptoms and find themselves again.
I now have a signature system called Rediscover Yourself In Menopause, with three programme which are based around a Signature Menopause Plan, looking at normal lifestyle activities and if you can make any improvement to what you already do. Each time I finish a plan with a client, I am blown away with their results and the transformation of them going from anxious to confident.
There is no right or wrong way to do the menopause plan, you make small changes during our time together, if you want to, then at the end, you take away the thing that you need at that time, even if it’s only one slight change you have made.
My goal is to support those who want to feel better and get their lives back, by offering them a choice of options to work with me, from a 1.5hr stand-alone session to 6months course for those who need a bit more support and accountability.
